Rio Ferdinand has been discussing the sacking of Jose Mourinho by Tottenham during the latest episode of his podcast Vibe with Five.
The Portuguese manager was dismissed after 17 months in charge of the North London-based club on Monday morning.
Tottenham drew 2-2 with Everton on Friday night with Harry Kane scoring a brace at Goodison Park.
Daniel Levy decided to part company with Mourinho just two days before a game against Southampton and six days from the Carabao Cup Final against Manchester City.

Ferdinand has questioned the timing and has also put forward another theory that could have played an impact in his sacking.
He told Vibe with Five: “I’m surprised with the timing of it. It doesn’t make sense. There’s going to be more fallout from this as it’s not normal for a manager to be sacked a week before the cup final.
“Has he disagreed with the European Super League and Tottenham being a part of it? I don’t know. There could be so many reasons as to why but Mourinho never does things conventionally.
“He’s normally the leader in things, he tries to be first to a lot of things. This is a mad move at a mad time. I just need to wait and hear more.”
TBR View: Ferdinand could have a point regarding Mourinho
Tottenham owner Levy won’t want it to come out now but there’s every chance that Mourinho’s departure coincided with the decision to enter the European Super League.
Of course, it could take years for that truth to emerge and for now the speculation will be rife as people choose their opinions.
Tottenham have been poor since the turn of the year and a failure to secure a top-four finish could have seen him sacked at the end of the season anyway.

Spurs were top in the early stages of the campaign and were playing some tremendous football.
As the season has progressed though they’ve been found out somewhat and their play has become passive and boring.
Levy will hope that sacking Mourinho can help Tottenham finish with a flourish and land themselves a top-six finish for the current campaign.
