Everton failed to earn more than a point against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon at Selhurst Park – but Rio Ferdinand and Yannick Bolasie praised the display of Michael Keane on Instagram.
The Toffees had goalkeeper Jordan Pickford to thank as the England number one made two excellent saves late on at a windy Selhurst Park to keep the scoreline at 0-0.
Marco Silva’s side were reduced to 10 men in the second half with 15 minutes left on the clock, with midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin picking up a second yellow card for a foul on Palace midfielder Luca Milivojevic.
England defender Keane was excellent throughout as Pickford starred between the sticks, and the former Manchester United and Burnley defender drew praise from both Ferdinaind and Bolasie on Instagram.
TBR’s view – Could this be Keane’s season at Everton?
Keane has struggled since his £30million (BBC Sport) from Burnley to Everton in the summer of 2017, with injury and a lack of momentum preventing the England ace from reaching his excellent best.
But against Palace, Keane impressed at the back after starring for the Merseyside club towards the end of last season. It seems as though Keane has some momentum back, and he could finally start to show the fans what he is about.
