Rio Ferdinand and Rhys Williams were amongst those to reply to Ben Godfrey after the Everton starlet took to Instagram following his display in England’s latest under-21 win on Tuesday.
The Three Lions rounded off their qualifying campaign in style at Molineux. They beat Albania 5-0 to remain unbeaten. In fact, they dropped just two points during their 10 games.

Godfrey was one of those brought into Aidy Boothroyd’s side for the final game. The 22-year-old was handed the chance to win his seventh cap for the side.
And it proved to be a good night for the £25 million Toffees summer signing (fee reported by BBC Sport). England kept a clean sheet and the defence were given little to do.

Godfrey produced a solid performance. And following the contest, he took to social media to express his delight at the result.
He also insisted that it was, once again, an honour to get a chance to represent his country…
A number of players sent messages to Godfrey in response. Amongst them was Liverpool youngster Williams – who was left out of the squad for Tuesday’s game – as well as Ferdinand.
They were clearly impressed with what they saw from the Everton youngster, who will now set his sights on staking a claim for a starting spot at next summer’s tournament.
