Luis Diaz scored one of the goals of the season so far for Liverpool tonight in what was a tricky performance against Crystal Palace.

The Reds found themselves behind thanks to Wilf Zaha’s goal in the opening half and had to fight back into the game to take something. The moment of magic to get Liverpool back into things came from January signing Diaz. The Colombian jinked inside around four or five Palace players before firing a rocket from the edge of the box into the far corner.

Certainly, it was a moment of brilliant from Diaz and it drew quite the reaction on Twitter. Indeed, there were quite a few open mouths at the finish from Diaz, and legendary defenders Rio Ferdinand and Carles Puyol were among those to give their reactions.

For Liverpool, though, having a player like Diaz on the books is nothing short of amazing. And his goal tonight just showed pure and simply he is more than up to replacing Sadio Mane.

It might not have been a vintage night for Liverpool but the goal from Diaz and reaction to it online shows how good this man can be.

Diaz can be the next Mane for Liverpool and if can keep producing goals like this, then the sky is the limit for the Colombian star.
