Jamie Redknapp has told Sky Sports that he thinks Liverpool will finish outside the top four in the Premier League this season – and says Manchester United look like a better side right now.
Jurgen Klopp’s side fell to a 2-1 defeat at Anfield last night after Leeds United grabbed a late winner through Crysencio Summerville.
The loss leaves Liverpool in ninth place in the Premier League table and it’s been a poor start by their high standards.
The Reds had picked up consecutive wins against Manchester City and West Ham United. But have now lost back to back games against Nottingham Forest and Leeds.
Now, Redknapp says he cannot see Liverpool finishing inside the top four after an underwhelming start to the new campaign.

Redknapp now predicts who finishes in the top four
Speaking on Sky Sports after today’s clash between United and West Ham, he said: “I think what everyone just imagined was that Liverpool and Man City would be far in advance to anybody else.
“I don’t think anybody could see what’s happening at Liverpool right now, I certainly couldn’t.
“I thought they were bankers to finish first or second. Right now, they’ve got it all on to get in the top four.”
Sky presenter David Jones then asked the former Liverpool midfielder if United will finish above Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
“Right now, they look better than Liverpool, that’s obvious,” Redknapp responded.
“Liverpool are losing at home to a team [Leeds] that are near the bottom of the league. That’s just not good enough.
“There’s more questions than answers. The midfield looks tired right now. [Sadio] Mane has been a huge loss.
“Defensively they don’t look like the same team. There’s so many different problems for Jurgen Klopp. But is he capable of turning it around? What’s going to happen after the World Cup is going to be key.
“How players are going to come back from that in terms of freshness, how tired are they going to be? Is there going to be injuries? What it will take out of them mentally, we don’t know because we’ve never had this situation before.
“But Liverpool have got it all on to get in that top four right now. Looking at it, I don’t think they do.”

Liverpool have shown glimpses of their quality this season, especially in the Champions League. But Klopp’s side have really struggled to find any consistency in the Premier League so far.
Erik Ten Hag’s side moved seven points above Liverpool after their 1-0 win over West Ham today.
There’s no doubt that United look like the better side at the moment but Klopp has shown in the past that he can guide his side through difficult periods.
