All the chat around Arsenal right now is about signing a new striker.
The Gunners are faltering in front of goal at the moment, and whenever any team is struggling to score, you have to consider whether or not a new striker should come in.
Speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, Ian Wright has been discussing Arsenal’s striking conundrum, and he’s suggested an alternative to Ivan Toney – who has, of course, been strongly linked.
According to Wright, Dominic Solanke is a player that he could see leading this Arsenal line, claiming that he has improved so much since he was being ridiculed during his time at Chelsea and Liverpool.

Solanke could be the one for Arsenal
Wright shared his verdict on the striker.
“The link is good for him, I don’t think he’s someone who won’t do something at Arsenal, look at the way he plays at Brentford and the way Arsenal are trying to play and you could see him in there, but you could also see a Dominic Solanke in there in the way he plays, someone who has some pedigree from Chelsea and Liverpool, getting ridiculed, but for that time he’s learning the link-up play, he’s a proper centre-forward, he’s another person who will probably be linked, and it has to suit, especially in January,” Wright said.
Getting better and better
Solanke is a very interesting prospect for a team like Arsenal.
Yes, he’s not been prolific in the Premier League for years on end, but he’s proven this season that he’s a top player, and with the right coaching, he can improve drastically in a short space of time.
As Wright says, Solanke is a player who has it all, he can finish, he can be physical, and he can link-up play.
Toney may be the player Arsenal want, but Solanke could be the better option in the long-term.
