Richarlison has been hit by an FA charge for an incident in Everton’s win over Chelsea and has offered an instant response.

An FA statement read: “Richarlison de Andrade has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 following Everton FC’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea FC on Sunday 1 May 2022.

“It is alleged the forward’s conduct in the 46th minute of the fixture was improper. He has until Wednesday 8 June 2022 to provide a response.”

He has been charged with improper conduct after picking up, carrying and throwing a flare while celebrating his winning goal in that crucial 1-0 victory.

“As far we are concerned, Richarlison was attempting to throw it out of the ground,” said Everton to the BBC at the time.

The charge comes at a time when Richarlison has already said he has spoken to the Everton board and Frank Lampard over his plans for next season.

“I’ve already made it clear to the board,” he said. “I’ve already talked to (manager Frank) Lampard too, with my agents and they know what I want. Let’s wait for June.

“Now I can’t talk, because when we talk about leaving a club I’m kind of like this, because of the history I have at Everton, the affection that the fans have for me. When we talk about leaving I’m a little speechless.”

Richarlison has been outspoken on social media lately and he has shown no signs of changing with his latest, timely, wordless tweet.
