Richarlison was amongst the Brazil players asked by Globo to pick the best XI made up of players they have played with at club level – and the Tottenham Hotspur star made an interesting choice in goal.

Richarlison has spent the majority of his professional career in England. He initially moved to Watford after bursting onto the scene in Brazil, before moving to Everton and then Spurs.

Of course, with both the Hornets and the Toffees, the 25-year-old spent much of his time battling in mid-table at best. At Tottenham meanwhile, Richarlison is playing for a side whose sights are set on a top-four finish and going as far as possible in the Champions League.

So it is not a big surprise that five of the players in his all-time club XI with Globo are from Tottenham. However, there are a couple of interesting picks.

It will not shock fans to learn that Son Heung-min and Harry Kane have made the cut. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Eric Dier are also in there.

Interestingly however, it is Emerson Royal who has got the nod at right-back. Obviously, his countryman has come in for a lot of criticism since moving to the Premier League.

But the shock pick comes between the sticks, with Richarlison not picking Hugo Lloris. Instead, the man he has gone for is Heurelho Gomes, who he played alongside at Vicarage Road…

Of course, Spurs fans know all about the 41-year-old. He spent six seasons on the books at White Hart Lane, losing his place to Brad Friedel the year before Lloris came in.

You would imagine that he was a big influence on Richarlison following his arrival at Watford. And Lloris has not been his teammate for too long.

Gomes seems to be an incredibly popular figure in the game. But you will probably not find too many Tottenham fans who would pick Gomes over Lloris.
