Everton forward Richarlison has told FIFA’s official website that in-form teammate Dominic Calvert-Lewin reminds him of world-class superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 23-year-old has made a blistering start to the 2020/21 campaign, scoring nine goals in six games in all competitions.

Everton currently sit top of the Premier League with a perfect record after four matches and the link-up between Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin has been a big positive.

The Brazil international has been blown away by the impact of the youngster, who has seen his form earn him an England call-up for the first time.

He told the official FIFA website: “Dominic’s development has been really impressive.

“He’s transformed into a complete striker. I remember when I got here he was nothing like the player he is today.

“It’s down to the work he’s put in. He’s in the gym every day, he’s always working on his finishing and under Ancelotti he’ll get better and better.

“He’s had a superb start to the season and without a doubt deserved his England call-up. He must be a nightmare to play against and has an incredible leap on him like Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Richarlison has been a quality signing for Everton since arriving from Watford for £50 million in 2018 (BBC).

Like Calvert-Lewin he has got better over time and the pair now look like taking Everton place.

Double act

Comparing Calvert-Lewin’s leap to Ronaldo is perhaps a little bit over the top but nonetheless, it highlights just how much his teammates are noticing his performance levels.

Everton’s perfect start to the season is testament to Ancelotti and if Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin can continue firing in tandem, the Toffees look Europe bound.
