Richard Keys was left stunned by what happened in the 36th minute as Manchester United clashed with Fulham at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils eventually suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Cottagers after a 97th minute winner from Alex Iwobi.

So, what did Richard Keys notice in the 36th minute as Manchester United lost to Fulham? Let’s take a look…

Richard Keys stunned by Harry Maguire situation

Well, the 66-year-old could not believe Harry Maguire avoided a red card today.

Keys took to X (previously known as Twitter) to express his disbelief that the England international remained on the pitch – following a studs up challenge on Sasa Lukic.

The BeIN Sports pundit wrote: “Harry Maguire is a very lucky boy. As clear a red as you’ll see all weekend and he was only booked by Michael Oliver. VAR is a waste of time when Oliver refs. No-one will contradict him.”

On another day, the Manchester United No.5 could have easily seen a red card brandished in his direction.

Maguire went on to net what he surely believed was an equaliser in the 89th minute after Calvin Bassey had given Fulham the lead in the 65th minute – only for Iwobi to dish out what Keys later described as “justice” on X.

Manchester United failed to take advantage

There is no denying that Manchester United were fortunate to keep 11 players on the pitch after Maguire’s lunge on Lukic.

However, Erik ten Hag failed to see his side take advantage of Oliver’s mistake.

Without the pace and directness of Rasmus Hojlund in attack – the Dane was sidelined with a muscle injury – the Red Devils looked devoid of any ideas going forward.

If performances like this continue to occur, Sir Jim Ratcliffe may even decide to make a change in the dugout this summer.
