‘Revelation’, ‘The real GOAT’ – Newcastle fans heap praise on hat-trick hero Ayoze Perez

Ayoze Perez scored a hat-trick to lift Newcastle United up to 12th in the Premier League after a win over Southampton.

The Spaniard scored his first ever Premier League hat-trick and continued his fine recent run of form. His three goals were enough to earn a 3-1 win over Southampton.

Perez was criticised earlier in the season for his inconsistency but he is growing into his role as a second striker alongside Salomon Rondon.

The two forwards complement each other well with Rondon providing the physicality and Perez providing the pace and flair.

Perez now has 10 Premier League goals for the season; his best goal return to date. The 25-year-old has even beaten his tally of nine league goals in the Championship in 2016/17.

Newcastle fans have definitely changed their minds about Perez, who has become an integral part of Rafa Benitez’s plans.

With his goals, Newcastle have managed to climb away from the relegation zone to the relative comfort of mid-table.
