‘Respect’, ‘Absolute hero’ – Aston Villa fans hail Alan Hutton after his emotional farewell message on Instagram

Alan Hutton has posted a heartfelt leaving message on Instagram (@hutton02) after leaving Aston Villa. The Scottish right-back is leaving on a free transfer after eight years.

With his final hurrah, Hutton helped Aston Villa back to the Premier League. He has provided Villa fans with some memorable moments, including his solo goal against Birmingham City.

On Instagram, accompanied with five images of himself in a Villa shirt, Hutton said:

“I’d like the thank @avfcofficial for an amazing 8 years. I have met so many brilliant people along the way, that I can now say are friends for life. All good things must come to an end, but wow it couldn’t of ended any better! A MASSIVE thanks has to go to the fans, you stuck by me through thick and thin. It will live with me for ever. Love you all ??. #UTV“

Hutton’s popularity can be measured by the amount of well-wishes and responses he got, not only from fans but players and ex-players too. Jack Grealish, John McGinn and Robert Snodgrass were among the players who replied to Hutton’s message.
