‘Rescue us’, ‘I’m on my knees’: Some Arsenal fans react after hearing who’s interested in buying the club

A number of Arsenal fans have urged Spotify co-founder and CEO Daniel Ek to make a move for the Gunners after declaring his interest in the club on Friday.

Current Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke has faced intense criticism since his initial arrival in 2007 ahead of becoming a majority shareholder four years later.

Over the past week,  his ownership of the Gunners came under even fiercer criticism in wake of the European Super League fiasco.

Arsenal were one of 12 leading European clubs that signed up to the prospective breakaway league, but after a strong backlash, all six Premier League clubs involved dropped out.

The Gunners’ involvement in the ESL proposals proved the last straw for many Arsenal fans, who made their way to the Emirates Stadium on Friday to protest KSE’s running of the club.

Ahead of Arsenal’s Premier League meeting with Everton on Friday night, Ek posted the following message on social media:
