Leeds Live have claimed that Luke Ayling has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at Elland Road, which will see him remain at Leeds United until the summer of 2023.

The 28-year-old’s new deal is set to be announced on Tuesday morning, which sees owner Andrea Radrizzani and the Leeds board tie up another contract in quick succession. A handful of first-team stars have already renewed their deals.

Kalvin Phillips ended speculation over his future after being linked with Aston Villa, by committing his future to Leeds while Liam Cooper and Stuart Dallas also signed new deals. Ayling is now set to become the latest in that list.

Ayling is not the last senior player to be offered a new deal. It is also believed that Mateusz Klich will agree new terms, when his agent arrives in Yorkshire from Poland. Klich is in the final 12 months of his contract.

Since joining from Bristol City for £750,000 (Mail), Ayling has played 116 times in all competitions for Leeds but the former Arsenal star is yet to feature this season. He is close to a return, after playing for the Under-23 side on Monday.

TBR’s view – Ayling deserves new Leeds deal

A leader in a side that is filled with young and inexperienced talent, Ayling is more than worthy of being handed a new deal which will keep him at Leeds until he is 32 years of age.

He is a likeable member of the squad, something that came across in the recent documentary, and certainly seems to have just as important a role on the pitch as he does off of it. Keeping Ayling will only continue to boost Leeds.
