Everton are once again being linked with a move for Atletico Madrid right-back Santiago Arias. Antena2 in Colombia are reporting that their countryman is wanted by the Toffees.
Of course, the immediate attention turns to Everton’s director of football Marcel Brands.
The Dutchman signed Arias at former club PSV Eindhoven and in 2015 told the official PSV website that Arias was ‘the perfect model’ for a modern full-back.
But Carlo Ancelotti is also known to be a big fan of the player.

As reported by Calciomercato in 2018 Ancelotti is a big fan of the player and wanted to bring him to former club Napoli from PSV that summer. The Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis later confirmed an approach with Gazzetta dello Sport.
But Arias headed to Atletico instead in a deal reportedly worth £11 million (Liverpool Echo).
However, the Colombian has struggled in the Spanish capital and this season has been third-choice behind Kieran Trippier and Sime Vrsaljko.
With Brands’ history with the player, Ancelotti might finally have a chance to get his hands on Arias this summer, even if right-back is the area of the Everton team least in need of improvement.
