Rangers fans have seen their news feeds dominated in recent days by the situation regarding Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox. Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is overlooking the Colombian for first-team duties with question marks over his fitness and desire to continue playing for the Glasgow side.
However, despite numerous reports to the contrary, Morelos has not yet handed in any sort of transfer request. As reported both by the Daily Record and the Glasgow Evening Times, the Rangers striker has not made a formal plea to leave Ibrox this summer.
As the latter report points out, Rangers did reject a £16 million offer from French side Lille earlier in the summer and there has been some suggestion Morelos is now forcing that move. However, the latest reports appear to suggest that is wide of the mark.
However, the GET does suggest that Rangers are waiting for Lille to make their intentions known as they look to sell the striker for the price they feel is befitting. The French side have recently signed Canadian forward Jonathan David at great expense so it would be a surprise if they also spent big to bring in the Rangers goal-machine.
Gerrard and Rangers have already done good work in their pursuit of replacing Morelos, bringing both Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten to Ibrox this summer.
But it seems that Morelos is not going gung ho in his attempts to leave Rangers just yet.
