Liverpool’s reported interest in Chelsea winger Willian has been downplayed.
The Brazilian attacker is out of contract at the end of the season and looks set to move away from Stamford Bridge on a free transfer.
Spanish publication SPORT reported earlier this week that Willian ‘is negotiating’ with Liverpool regarding a move to Anfield.
It was claimed that the Brazilian was talking to Liverpool in ‘very favourable conditions’ because of his Bosman status.

However, that has been ruled out by Liverpool ECHO and Football.London. Ian Doyle of the ECHO made that clear on Twitter whilst Football.London suggested that the Brazilian has ‘not held any discussions’ regarding a move to Anfield.
Willian, who is reportedly (Daily Express) on £120,000-a-week at Chelsea, would have been a surprise move for Liverpool.
It is generally believed that the Brazilian wants to remain in London if he stays in England. It would also not match up with Liverpool’s current transfer strategy.
Willian turns 32 in August and Liverpool currently prefer to bring in younger talents who can grow within Jurgen Klopp’s side.
The Brazilian wideman does not fit into that mold and now it does seem as though Liverpool’s reported interest was not as concrete as previously reported.
