Reports: Alexandre Lacazette wants Real Madrid move but set for ‘default’ Arsenal stay

Alexandre Lacazette looks set to stay at Arsenal this summer, even though he is keen on a move to Real Madrid.

The French striker has been linked with a potential Emirates exit this summer, with Atletico Madrid often mentioned as a potential location.

However, a report from Defensa Central has explained how Lacazette would love a move to the Bernabeu to play for his idol Zinedine Zidane.

However, despite Zidane being a fan of the Arsenal striker, Real Madrid are looking at younger striker options if they are to make any additions this summer. Spending around €50 million (£45m) on a 29-year-old is not considered good business for Real at this time.

It comes as Football.London reports that Lacazette is likely to remain at Arsenal ‘by default’ this summer. It is suggested Arsenal would have been open to the sale of the Frenchman but in the current climate, finding a suitable buyer seems unlikely.

Arsenal are facing a fight to keep hold of their other star striker this summer, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang entering the final year of his contract and seemingly no progress being made regarding a renewal.

So keeping Lacazette may be in the club’s best interest at this time. Hopefully, he can prove more of a threat than his nine-goal season so far should he remain at Arsenal next season.
