Reportedly offered to Newcastle United, Pedro could now join another Magpie target at Real Betis

Newcastle United have also been linked with Nabil Fekir.

It was reported earlier this week that Newcastle United might have a chance of signing Chelsea winger Pedro in the summer. As reported by The Chronicle, the Spanish international has been offered to the Magpies as they look set for major additions after their Saudi-backed takeover is ratified.

That was just the latest in a long line of potential Newcastle United signings post-takeover. Another eye-catching rumour from the past week was that of World Cup winner Nabil Fekir.

As reported by Foot Mercato, the Magpies are hoping to make a big-money move for the French attacker this summer.

But how could Pedro potentially impact Newcastle’s interest in Fekir?

Because it would appear that Fekir’s current club Real Betis are also keen on Pedro. As reported by Estadio Deportivo, the Spanish side is also keen on bringing the 32-year-old, also a World Cup winner, to Seville this summer.

Considering the two operate in similar positions, it could easily be considered that Pedro is being eyed up as a potential replacement for Fekir should he make the rumoured £43.5 million switch to St James’ Park.

Indeed, if Newcastle fans had the choice, they would likely prefer to see the £100,000-a-week (Daily Mail) Pedro head to Spain and the Frenchman on his way to Tyneside.

However, with Betis insistent that Fekir is going nowhere, it appears more likely that Pedro is a sign of the La Liga side’s ambition, with the intention of pairing the duo for the Verdiblancos.
