Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Bertrand Traore.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs are one of a few Premier League clubs tracking the young ace.

Arsenal and West Ham are also keeping tabs on the former Chelsea man, who made 48 appearances for Lyon last term, scoring 11 goals and making five assists.

Traore has been with Lyon for two years after transferring from Ajax in 2017.

The Burkina Faso international has three years remaining on the deal he signed when he joined the club, meaning the French side are in strong position for any negotiations.

Tottenham’s ‘interest’ is intriguing – if Spurs do end up snapping up the 23-year-old, it could be the making of him.

TBR’s view

Traore faced an uphill battle trying to break into the Chelsea first-team, with quality players such as Eden Hazard, Pedro, Willian and Andre Schurrle ahead of him.

Although he’s improving now, he still lacks consistency at times.

Arguably he needs a manager who can help him realise his brilliant potential, and Spurs have one of the best in the business at developing young players in Mauricio Pochettino.

Pacy Traore is yet to convince the masses so far in his career. A move to Spurs would be a surprise, but Pochettino could be the man to help him shine.

He’s worked wonders with the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane, perhaps Traore – who surely must feel he has unfinished business in England – could be the Argentine’s next project.

His ability to play as a winger or a striker would definitely given the manager different options up top.
