Reported Manchester City target Romelu Lukaku has confirmed that he will stay with Inter Milan next season.
Speaking on Belgian TV station VTM via HLN, the 28-year-old striker revealed he will be staying with the Serie A champions despite rumours of an exit.

Manchester City have been linked with Lukaku as a potential replacement for Sergio Aguero, who left the club this week for FC Barcelona.
Fire sale at Inter
Mediaset reported via FC Inter 1908 that City have been in contact with Lukaku’s entourage.

The Milanese club faces financial problems this summer and could be forced to offload key players in the transfer window. Antonio Conte left the club due to this issue last month.
Yet Lukaku will not be one of these players to leave after the former Manchester United star proclaimed he will be staying with Inter, and that he is happy with the team.
‘I am staying’

“I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet, but it was a very positive conversation.

City can now focus on other attacking targets
Signing Lukaku was always going to be an arduous task for City. And with confirmation from the striker that he will be staying at Inter, Pep Guardiola’s side needs to shift their focus to other attacking targets.

Replacing Aguero with a new long-term striker must be a priority for City this summer. And even though Lukaku is now out of the equation, there are still plenty of names out there who could make for a suitable signing for the Premier League champions.
