Goalkeeper Mark Travers has signed a new long-term contract with Premier League club Bournemouth, as confirmed by the club’s official website.
The 20-year-old stopper broke into the Cherries side right at the tail end of last season, and has committed his future to the club.
He said: “I’m delighted to sign a new contract. On a personal note, it was a great end to last season and to now get this deal sorted, it will really help me push on and into the new season.
“As soon as the offer was there I was really keen to sign and commit my future to the club. The manager and backroom staff have been brilliant with me. I’ve developed as both a person and player during my time with the club and I’m excited for what the future holds.”

With Asmir Begovic unconvincing last season and Artur Boruc knocking on a bit, Travers may be able to get even more gametime next season.
But his new deal could be a blow to Leeds, who were linked with a swoop for the young stopper by the Sun last month, as they were hoping that a loan deal could have been engineered.
Travers also apparently has international ambitions and wants to be playing every week in order to realise them – so the door is not necessarily completely shut for the Whites.
