This summer saw Leeds United in the hunt for a new centre-back after losing Brighton loanee Ben White.
In the end, they did some great business, by bringing in German and Spanish internationals Robin Koch and Diego Llorente respectively.
But one player who was seemingly on their radar was Welsh youngster Ben Cabango.
As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds were considering a move for the impressive talent who had emerged as a first-team regular at the Liberty Stadium in the 2019-20 season.
But Swansea made it quite clear they were not looking to sell the player and Leeds moved on to their other targets. Swansea, meanwhile, sold Cabango’s defensive partner, Joe Rodon, to Tottenham to balance the books.

However, given the start to the season, Cabango has had with the Welsh side, Leeds will hopefully be tracking his progress.
Cabango has been a regular for the Jacks who moved to second in the Championship today following a 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.
Not only is Cabango proving solid defensively, but he is even showing himself as a major threat in the opposing box.
Cabango scored in today’s win, nodding home a header by using his powerful 6ft 2ins frame. It is his second goal of the season and although it is his defensive qualities, including his ability on the ball, that likely caught Leeds’ attention.
Considering his current form in Wales, Leeds would be right to be keeping tabs on the player as a potential future transfer target. If he keeps this form up, it would be easy to see Leeds making a move in the near future.
