Everton are reportedly considering a move for Italian goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu this summer. Calciomercato is reporting that Everton and Carlo Ancelotti’s former club Napoli are hoping to make a move for the player, who is currently plying his trade for Torino.
Everton would seemingly want the 33-year-old to apply some pressure to Jordan Pickford, who has struggled to find his best form this season.
Two unnamed Premier League clubs are said to also be keen on the player, who is believed to be considering his future in Turin.

If Ancelotti was to sign the experienced goalkeeper, he would be bringing in a player who thinks very fondly of the Everton boss.
Sirigu played under the Italian at Paris Saint-Germain. Speaking to the press in France back in 2011, after Ancelotti arrived at the French side, Sirigu praised the now Everton boss, as reported by Goal.
“Ancelotti is a role model.
“He won so many trophies with Milan, few coaches are like him. I remember in particular a fantastic team with Kaka and [Andrei] Shevchenko, who was the best striker in the world.
“Ancelotti has led players who have reached exceptional levels. He deserves respect from all. His workouts are more professional. He is focused on the details.”
Sirigu was then the undisputed number one at PSG under the management of Ancelotti, winning the 2012-13 Ligue 1 title under his guidance, the first of four for Sirigu, and being named the Ligue 1 goalkeeper of the year. So, clearly, he would be a trusted recruit should Everton bring the veteran stopper to Goodison Park this summer.
With Pickford’s performances lacking, Jonas Lossl currently out on loan, and Maarten Stekelenburg returning to Ajax this summer, Sirigu could be a shrewd addition.
Everton fans will certainly be open to the addition.
