Everton are reportedly lining up a move for Toulouse star Ibrahim Sangare.

L’Equipe claim the Ivory Coast international is on the Toffees’ radar this summer, as well as Tottenham Hotpsur’s.

The 21-year-old’s stock has risen high after an impressive showing in 2018/19, in which he made 28 appearances.

The 6ft 3in colossus scored one goal and assisted twice, but gained plaudits for the main part of his game which is to provide protection for the defence from midfield.

Apparently Sangare wants to stay one more season with Toulouse, but the club may be tempted to sell if they receive and offer in the region of €20million to €25million (£17.75 million and £22.2 million).

Sangare would be an exciting addition by Everton and arguably, he could become their own version of Liverpool’s Fabinho.

TBR’s view

Fabinho is obviously very established now.

He is 25 years old and has a Ligue 1 and Champions League winners’ medal to his name.

But Sangare could well become Everton’s own version of the Brazilian if he continues his brilliant development.

The pair are physically very similar – the Frenchman a shade taller.

Sangare plays a very similar game to the Reds ace. He likes to screen the defence and add steel in midfield.

He is not just in there for that though – he is comfortable on the ball, has a great passing range and is technically quite impressive just as Fabinho is.

The forward-thinking Frenchman is still raw, but Everton could be on to a real winner.
