Reported Arsenal target Odsonne Edouard has been named in Julio Maldonado’s list of his top 10 rising stars in world football, as published by Marca.
According to The Mirror, the Gunners are interested in the highly rated Celtic 22-year-old, who has claimed an impressive 60 goals and 31 assists in 126 Hoops appearances.
Edouard has played for the Glasgow serial winners since the summer of 2017, when he initially joined on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
He then joined the Bhoys permanently the following year for a club record £9million (Sky Sports) and has been a star in the green and white hoops.
Writing for Marca, Maldonado has listed his top ten Under-23 future superstars in the world today, listing Edouard in third place behind Eduardo Camavinga and Rayan Cherki.
“Edouard left the PSG youth academy and is showing a lot of level,” wrote the esteemed Spanish pundit.
“He is 22 years old, he has 21 goals in the Scottish league, although he is not in a great league and we need to measure him in another championship. Fast, skillful, he is a modern forward.
“With the French sub 21 he has 11 goals in 6 games at a very good level, so he will not be ruled out for the senior side.”
Maldonado has covered multiple World Cups and has worked in the media with El Dia Despues, Movistar, COPE and Marca covering world football, so he has seen plenty of talent.
For him to list Edouard at number three is a huge deal, and surely it’s now only a matter of time before he ups sticks and heads to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Pundits are running out of superlatives to send Edouard’s way, and his scoring and assisting record speaks for itself.
He is ready for a big career move, and Arsenal, a club eager to get back to the top table, seem like a great fit for him.
