Reported Arsenal target Dominik Szoboszlai’s agent speaks about exit rumours

The agent of Dominik Szoboszlai has said that his client is attracting interest from the Premier League, according to Football.London.

The Sun reported yesterday that Arsenal had their sights set on the midfielder as they look to fill the void left by Aaron Ramsey’s departure to join Juventus.

And Matyas Esterhazy, Szoboszlai’s agent, said: “I can confirm a number of the top Premier League clubs are interested in Dominik but at this point I can not confirm or deny specific clubs.

“My client is focusing on his current club and the upcoming challenges of the next season both in the league and the Champions League.”

Arsenal could well face a bidding war from England for the Hungarian midfielder, but his agent may also be trying to start a bidding war or get the asking price up for his client.

The initial Sun report said that Arsenal would face competition from Italy in the shape of Juventus and Lazio for his signature, but perhaps there will be more names in the hat.

In truth, taking over from Ramsey would be a huge job for a teenage midfielder, but Arsenal’s transfer budget and lack of Champions League football will likely mean that Unai Emery has to take gambles on younger talent.
