According to Eurosport, Arsenal’s hopes of keeping Martin Odegaard beyond his current loan spell rest on the future of Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane.
Odegaard move to the Gunners late in the January window and is said to be excited by the project Mikel Arteta sold him.

The 22-year-old is hoping to impress in his short spell in England. However, any hopes of Arsenal making a permanent move are set to rely on how Madrid deal with Zidane in the summer.
Eurosport claims that Madrid could choose to part company with Zidane, with Los Blancos struggling on a number of fronts.
It is claimed, however, that if Zidane remains in charge, then Odegaard is not interested in returning to Spain with Madrid. Instead, he is believed to be keen on turning his move to Arsenal into a more permanent one.

Odegaard has made his debut for Arsenal already but faces a battle to dislodge the likes of Emile Smith-Rowe at the moment.
TBR View: A long way to go with Odegaard, and a lot can change
Speculation over Odegaard’s long-term future will probably continue into the summer anyway. With that, there’s little point in trying to predict what will happen in Madrid.
Zidane, in all likelihood, will probably be moved on. However, he has a hand knack of winning the Champions League, which could well keep him in a job.
Odegaard’s focus should simply be to impress at Arsenal. Beyond that, it’s simply a case of what will be will be for the Norwegian.
