Report: Wolves to reopen talks with Adama Traore after Spurs links

Wolves are hoping to reopen contract talks with Adama Traore after the winger failed to make a move to Spurs this summer, according to a report from Birmingham Live.

Adama looked set to be on the move in the final days of the window. Spurs reportedly made a £5 million bid that was turned down due to the offer including an option rather than an obligation to buy.

And as noted by Birmingham Live, Tottenham made a last-gasp £30 million bid on deadline day. However, Wolves turned down the offer as they held out for £50 million in the final hours of the window.

And it now seems that Bruno Lage’s men are planning to try and put an end to the speculation altogether.

According to Birmingham Live, Wolves are looking to discuss a new deal with the Spain international. It is noted that his current terms have less than two years left to run.

Tottenham may perhaps hold out hope that Adama will decide against renewing his deal.

But interestingly, Birmingham Live has added that he is enjoying working with Lage.

Spurs may not need to wait too much longer to learn where they stand with Adama Traore as Wolves eye contract talks

Obviously, the next window is months away. But Spurs may soon know a lot more about whether a deal is possible.

Should Adama decide to sign a new contract, Fabio Paratici will know to look elsewhere.

But with two years left, Wolves will be in a precarious position should Adama decide against fresh talks.

And with that, a similar offer from Spurs in January or the summer would surely be much more appealing.
