Wolves look set to miss out on one of their potential replacements for Raul Jimenez, with Real Madrid man Luka Jovic set to rejoin Eintracht Frankfurt.
Reports from the Athletic at the end of last month had highlighted Jovic as a player of interest for Wolves boss Nuno Santo, who is in the market for a striker to cover for Jimenez after his horror head injury.
But Jovic is now said to be close to agreeing a deal with Frankfurt as he looks to rediscover the sort of form which took him to Real Madrid in the first place.
Jovic has struggled massively in Madrid, playing just a handful of times from the start. Wolves, meanwhile, will remain in the hunt for a new striker after losing out to Everton last night in the Premier League.
A risky signing anyway, Wolves will move on – TBR View
Jovic was always going to be a bit of a punt from Wolves. He has simply not got going and his last 18 months have been miserable to say the least.
Ideally, Santo needs someone to come in and hit the ground running, not someone lacking match sharpness and fitness.
Wolves will have other targets here, so losing out on Jovic is not the end of the world.
