Wolverhampton Wanderers will reportedly confirm the loan signing of Willian Jose over the weekend before the player arrives next week, according to the Express & Star.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is believed to be on the lookout for a new striker as Raul Jimenez continues to recover from a serious head injury.

While Douglas Costa has been mentioned as a possible option, reports seem to suggest that a deal for Willian is imminent.

On Thursday, the Birmingham Mail claimed that Wolves are set to sign the 29-year-old on loan from Real Sociedad and hope to wrap the deal up early next week.

The outlet adds that Willian will need to secure a work permit to play in the Premier League but that shouldn’t be a problem due to his experience in Spain.

Now, the Express & Star claims that a loan deal with a permanent option in the summer, subject to a work permit being granted, is set to be announced.

The Brazilian is reportedly set to spend the rest of the season at Wolves, who have the option – not an obligation – to buy him for around £22million.

It is believed that Willian will arrive in England next week once all the necessary paperwork – new Brexit rules delaying the process slightly – is completed.

TBR View:

Plenty of speculation has been doing the rounds suggesting Wolves and Willian are effectively a done deal.

He’d be a great acquisition for the Molineux outfit as they look to bolster their attacking ranks further in wake of Jimenez’s absence.

Willian has been at Real Sociedad since 2016 and has built up a decent tally of 62 goals and 15 assists in 170 appearances, while his 20 bookings suggest he’s not afraid to get physical.

While he’s yet to win a senior Brazil cap, he has been called up to the squad on two occasions, being described by Tite as a “tall” player who “moves and heads a lot.”
