Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made an offer of around £10 million to sign Edson Alvarez.
That’s the claim made by Record, who say Wolves are now in pole position to land the central defender.

The Club America star’s future should soon be resolved now that the Gold Cup has concluded, with his country Mexico taking the title by beating the USA 1-0 in the final.
Apparently Alvarez is a prime target for manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who needs reinforcements ahead of what could be a gruelling season.
The Black Country club will soon be participating in the Europa League qualifying rounds and Espirito Santo will need a big squad if they make it through to the group stages.
TBR’s view
Alvarez at £10 million would be a solid signing by Wolves.
The 21-year-old is combative, versatile and nifty with the ball at his feet, making him a potentially really useful acquisition.

West Ham United and Celtic have also been linked with a move for Alvarez, but perhaps Wolves hold a trump card with international teammate Raul Jimenez already an established player at Molineux.
One would imagine Club America will attempt to squeeze a little more out of Wolves, but the club shouldn’t let the talented youngster slip from their grasp.
