Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir is said to have made a brilliant start on loan at Spanish side SD Huesca.

The youngster joined the club last month, after spending the first half of the 2019/20 season with Nottingham Forest.

Spaniard Mir made just 13 appearances for the Championship outfit, spending most of his time on the bench for Sabri Lamouchi’s side.

In total he managed 390 minutes of pitch time, which was a real disappointment for the player.

His loan move to the City Ground was scrapped, and Wolves then sent Mir back to his homeland with second-tier Huesca, and AS report he has made a really positive start.

The 22-year-old has two goals in his opening three games, and the report suggests he has already become a ‘great hope’ for the remainder of the club’s season.

Apparently he is fitting perfectly in Míchel Sánchez’s team, and Wolves will hope to see him finish the season strongly from here.

TBR’s view – Mir’s last chance?

Mir needs a big few months back in his homeland now if he is to convince Wolves officials he still has something to offer at Molineux.

His spell with Forest was a major disappointment, but his time with Las Palmas in 2018/19 was encouraging.

Raul Jimenez is obviously the main man at Molineux, but Nuno Espirito Santo has few other options beyond the Mexican to play as a central striker.

Certainly there aren’t any other ‘target man’ options right now, and it’s a big chance for Mir to show he can perhaps play backup to Jimenez in 2020/21.

Failing that, Wolves can perhaps make a bit of money on the player off the back of some good form.
