Report: Wolves star Adama Traore wanted by Chelsea

Wolves may have to see off interest from Chelsea if they hope to keep Adama Traore this summer, with The Telegraph reporting that Thomas Tuchel has identified the winger as a surprise target.

It proved to be an intriguing season at Molineux for the Spain international.

He ended the year with two goals and two assists in the Premier League. However, his tallies in both categories stood at zero until April.

Nevertheless, he was one of the most talked-about players in the top flight for much of the year.

Opposition full-backs have struggled to find a way to contain Adama.

The combination of his pace and power means that he is always a potential threat – even when he is perceived to be out of form.

And he has now found himself on Chelsea’s radar, according to reports.

The Telegraph reports that Tuchel wants Adama, believing that he is a potential wing-back option for the Champions League winners.

Wolves may welcome big Chelsea bid for Adama Traore – judging by recent reports

It does appear that Adama faces an uncertain future at Molineux.

The Athletic reported last week that Wolves will need to sell to buy this summer.

That report suggested that Ruben Neves could go for £35 million, but they also noted that Adama’s future was in doubt.

He has been linked with a move away throughout much of this past campaign.

90 Min claimed ahead of the January transfer window that Leeds United were interested in the 25-year-old, who was valued at £40 million.

So if Wolves are indeed looking to bolster their transfer kitty with player sales, it is difficult to imagine that they would not be open to offers for Adama.

Of course, there are very few players like Adama in the Premier League. So they will surely have no interest in letting him go on the cheap.

But with Chelsea now having a Champions League title to defend, the Blues are hardly going to be struggling for funds to invest.
