Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Matija Sarkic when he leaves Aston Villa, according to a report from The Sun on Sunday (12/7; page 61).
Sarkic is set to leave Villa once the campaign concludes. As reported by Birmingham Live, he will be released in the summer having penned an extension until the end of the season.
But while he may be on the way out of Villa, it appears that he will be given the chance to stay in the Premier League.
According to The Sun on Sunday (12/7; page 61), the 22-year-old is set to sign for Wolves. It is suggested that he could be loaned out shortly after his arrival.
He is no stranger to going out on a temporary basis. The Montenegro international was sent out on loan four times during his time at Villa, with the most recent stint spent at Livingston in the Scottish Premiership.
It will be interesting to see what hopes Wolves have for Sarkic. Of course, it looks incredibly unlikely that Nuno Espirito Santo will be looking at him as a potential upgrade on Rui Patricio.
But John Ruddy’s contract has been extended until the end of next season (via Express and Star).
Meanwhile, Will Norris is also on the club’s books and has spent the season on loan at Ipswich Town.
So it is perhaps an intriguing move from Wolves to reportedly look at bringing Sarkic in once his deal with Aston Villa does expire.
