Report: Wolves now want to sign 'incredible' Everton target, he's only got a year left on his contract
Wolves want to sign Everton target Michy Batshuayi on loan from Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.
Wolves have brought in South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan on a permanent deal after his loan move last season, and he could fill in for Jimenez in a central role.
However, he played his best football for Wolves while playing on the left-wing, while back-up striker Fabio Silva has already gone on loan to Anderlecht.
This leaves Lage’s side light on forward options, and Batshuayi could be the man to fill that gap.
Wolves want Batshuayi on loan
Since joining Chelsea from Marseille in 2016, Batshuayi has been sent out on loan on five separate occasions.
The 28-year-old has finally entered the final year of his Chelsea contract, and you would expect him to leave at the end of the season no matter how he performs this year.
The ‘incredible’ forward has never been prolific in the Premier League, and even though he’s never been first choice at Chelsea, his two spells at Crystal Palace were equally uninspiring.
Batshuayi has never managed to score more than five goals in a Premier League season, but a new environment surrounded by a new set of players could get the best out of the Belgian international.
Everton had been linked with a move for Batshuayi among several other Chelsea players, as they look to reinforce their attacking options, after an injury to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
