Sky Sports claim Wolverhampton Wanderers have made enquiries to sign defenders Takehiro Tomiyasu and Nikola Milenkovic. The Serie A defenders have been strongly linked with both West Ham and Tottenham this summer. Now, Wolves are keen on both and have made enquiries.
Japan international Tomiyasu, 22, has just returned to his club this summer’s Olympics in his home country. The 22-year-old can play at right-back or at centre-back and his form for Bologna has caught the eye. But Tomiyasu, who is rated at £17million, wants to join Tottenham this summer.
Wolves have also enquired for Nikola Milenkovic. The Serbia international is quickly emerging as one of Serie A’s best defender. But the 6ft 5in colossus is likely to prove ‘too costly’ for Wolves despite being in the final year of his contract. Tottenham are leading the race for Milenkovic, too.

Wolves desperately need defenders – Tomiyasu and Milenkovic ideal
Tomiyasu probably more so. The Japan ace can play the right of a back three, one of two alongside Conor Coady or even as a right-back. That versatility is ideal for a Wolves side that chopped and changed between a back four and a back three last season.
Milenkovic is not as versatile. Indeed, the Serbia ace is more of a player that plays solely as a centre-back and in a back three – he would be the man in the middle. Wolves already have that kind of player in Coady. If Wolves are to sign one of the two defenders, it has to be Tomiyasu.
