Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly joined the pursuit for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.

According to the Times, Wolves have entered the race alongside Arsenal for the 25-year-old.

It is understood that the centre-back is available to leave Juventus this summer, but Arsenal have seen a two-year loan approach turned down.

The report details that Wolves have entered the running by submitting a £30million bid.

Wolves looked a little short at centre-back ahead of the new season, but have added Jesu Vallejo on loan from Real Madrid for the 2019/20 campaign.

It looks like manager Nuno Espirito Santo wants an offer and has attempted to splash the cash for Juventus’ enforcer.

Wolves preferred a three-man defence of Conor Coady, WIlly Boly and Ryan Bennett last season, but there is now the added European fixtures.

One more defensive option through the doors at Molineux should leave Wolves with a strong squad and ensure they look to build on a seventh-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

Rugani would be an exciting addition for the West Midlands club, as he’s someone with great pedigree and £30million shows a huge amount of faith.

The Italian is a ball-playing centre-back that would potentially be an upgrade in the Wolves defence and may be a success in the Premier League.

He played just 20 senior games across all competitions last season for Juventus and needs regular minutes to reach his full potential.
