According to a report from A Bola, Wolves are interested in landing Porto winger, Jesus Corona, as Nuno Santo looks to strengthen his squad ahead of next season.

Corona has been one of the standout performers for Porto this season. Notching eleven assists in the league, the Mexican has added to that across all competitions, bringing his total to an impressive 18. Add to that his four goals and the winger is clearly an attacking threat.

Wolves lost ground in the race for European football this weekend as Arsenal won out 2-0 at Molineux.

Manager Santo is expected to add to his squad over the summer. Wolves have one of the smaller squads in the Premier League, with Santo using a similar XI and subs in most games.

Corona could well give the Wolves boss added options in wide and attacking areas. Although the 27-year-old is predominantly a right-winger, he can play across the front and as a wing-back if needed.

The report from A Bola claims Corona has a £27m release-clause which would need to be met. If European qualification is secured, Wolves may well be tempted to part ways with that sum.

Wolves need strength in depth, Corona is a signing who makes sense – TBR View

As good as Wolves have been over the last few seasons, there is little doubting their need for improvement and strength in depth.

The current XI and players on the bench can’t be expected to do it week in, week out, across all competitions.

Signing someone like Corona, who can play in multiple positions, would be a smart move. The winger is a massive talent who thrives on laying on chances for teammates.

He’s also capable of the spectacular, having scored the goal of the month over in Portugal in January.
