Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made contact with Christian Eriksen’s agent over a potential January switch to Molineux, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Denmark international has struggled to establish himself as a regular in the Inter line-up since joining for a reported £18million a year ago.

Eriksen shone at Tottenham Hotspur, making 305 competitive appearances for Arsenal’s rivals and registering 69 goals and 89 assists.

However, the 28-year-old has made just 38 appearances for Inter in all competitions, with just 12 this season and just five starts in 2020-21.

Inter chief executive Beppe Marotta told Sky Sports – as quoted by BBC Sport – last month: “Eriksen is among the transfers (listed).

“It’s not a punishment but he has struggled to settle into the squad… so it is right to give him the opportunity to find more space elsewhere.”

Arsenal are amongst the clubs reportedly weighing-up a move, with fellow Londoners West Ham, plus Spanish giants Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid, also linked.

And on Monday, Gianluca Di Marzio told Sky Sport Italia – as cited by Inter News and the Daily Mail – that Wolves, as well as Eriksen’s former club Ajax, have spoken with his agent.

However, no clubs are believed to have tabled a formal offer for the player just yet.

“For Eriksen, Inter haven’t had a single offer, not even on loan,” said Di Marzio. “There are no direct contacts; the agent is speaking with Ajax and Wolves a bit, but nobody from Inter has been involved.”

TBR View:

It’s not been a great 12 months for Eriksen, who has gone from being one of Spurs’ key players – so much so that Daniel Levy reportedly placed a £225million price tag on him two years ago (AS) – to a fringe player at Inter.

However, he is a very talented attacking midfielder – a “pure No. 10” and “a creative player” according to Andre Villas-Boas, who signed him at Spurs in 2013 – whose quality and proven Premier League experience could certainly help bolster a stuttering Wolves outfit.
