Wolverhampton Wanderers may face a battle to land Raul Jimenez on a permanent deal as other Premier League clubs have entered the race.

According to Mexican media channel Fox Sports, Jimenez’s father claims that the striker is happy at Wolves but has other offers on the table.

Mexican journalist Ruben Rodriguez – who conducted the interview with Jimenez’s father – then claimed that clubs from Spain and England are keen on the 27-year-old.

Rodriguez believes that ‘two or three other Premier League clubs’ could make summer moves for Jimenez.

Wolves signed Jimenez on a season-long loan from Benfica last summer and he has been a revelation. Operating as either a lone striker or alongside Diogo Jota, Jimenez has impressed Wolves fans with his all-round displays.

With 15 goals in 35 appearances, the Mexico international has been in good form in front of goal and he has also set up six assists for team-mates.

Wolves are desperate to sign him on a permanent deal but may have to trigger his €38m (over £32.5m) release clause to land him.

And the West Midlands club will also have to fend off interest from other Premier League sides to retain the services of their star striker.

Jimenez recently scored for Mexico to add to his burgeoning reputation and Wolves simply must get this deal done.

He is central to Nuno Espirito Santo’s style of play and would be worth the £30m-plus transfer fee to guide Wolves to further success next season.
