Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing left-footed defender Dan Happe from National League club Dan Happe.

According to the Sun, Wolves, Brighton and Norwich City are all tracking the 20-year-old talent.

It is understood that the Premier League pair are leading the chase for his signature in the summer, while Championship outfit Norwich are monitoring him.

The report details that he will enter the final year of his contract with Orient in the summer, meaning he could be snapped up for just £200,000.

Happe is an in-form centre-back that has forced his way into the starting XI for National League leaders Orient and won the club’s player of the month for both January and February.

He is a towering defensive enforcer that is impressing in England’s fifth-tier and is attracting interest from clubs above.

TBR’s View:

Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo could do with bolstering his thin squad in the summer and a left-footed defender that can slot into his back three would be a smart addition.

It would surely be too much for Happe to make the jump from non-league to the Premier League instantly, but he is a ball-playing centre-back with a lot of potential and the path to the top flight shouldn’t be impossible for him.

The West Midlands club have a great mix of English and Portuguese players succeeding this season, with the club on course for seventh in the Premier League and also in the FA Cup semi-finals.

Happe could be an interesting summer target, but perhaps loaning him out to a League One club or the Championship if they sign him could be the smartest move.
