Wolverhampton Wanderers could be set to reignite their interest in AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie in January.
Sky Sports understand the Black Country club are still keen on the Ivorian dynamo, after failing with a last-ditch bid in the summer.
Milan are supposedly keen to offload the star, with French outfit AS Monaco also interested.
Kessie has been an ever-present for the Rossoneri since joining the club on a two-year loan deal in 2017.
The 22-year-old has clocked up 98 appearances for the Italian giants so far, but the club are seeking to make a profit on the player, who joined permanently this summer thanks to his obligation to buy clause.
Sky report that Kessie, who has 27 caps for the Ivory Coast, is rated at £25 million.
Wolves could have done with Kessie ahead of the new season, but it would be ideal for them to get him in January.
Nuno Espirito Santo is working with a small squad, and none of his current midfielders are quite like the former Atalanta dynamo.
Kessie is a midfield powerhouse capable of playing that box-to-box role. He has excellent mobility and is generally good in possession.
He has been criticised on occasion at Milan for not being consistent enough, but he is still young and has the tools to become a top player.
