Wolverhampton Wanderers are close to sealing their first deal of the January transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, the Black Country club are now on the verge of signing talented Dutch teenager Nigel Lonwijk from PSV Eindhoven for a fee in the region on £180,000.

The development comes after a report from Eindhovens Dagblad in November that suggested the ‘strong’ and ‘athletic’ defender would be moving to Molineux in January
The Dutch club provided a statement on the proposed move a couple of days ago. It read (Express & Star): “Nigel Lonwijk has made the definitive switch to the English football club Wolverhampton with effect from the second half of the season.”
The 17-year-old is understood to be in the West Midlands, and official confirmation from the club is expected soon.
It’s thought the club are simply waiting for international clearance to register him.
Once that is sorted, Lonwijk is to join up with the club’s U18 side.
TBR’s view – Building for the future
It looks like Wolves have added another young talent to their academy.

The club have been making a habit of recruiting fledgling talents lately, with the likes of Pedro Neto, Meritan Shabani, Renat Dadashov and Bruno Jordao all joining last summer.
Perhaps Lonwijk is a name for Wolves fans to listen out for in the future, with the Netherlands having produced some fine young defenders in recent times.
