Report: Wolves and Juventus in talks over swap deal, involves Old Lady midfielder

A report from Gazzetta Dello Sport claims Wolves and Juventus are in talks over a swap deal including Aaron Ramsey, and Ruben Neves this summer.

Ramsey, 30, has struggled in the two seasons he has spent at Juventus. Clocking up 65 appearances, the Wales star has only scored six goals.

TuttoJuve recently said that Juventus would be open to the sale of Ramsey for just £10m, in order to get the ex-Arsenal man’s pay off the wage bill.

Now, the report claims Ramsey could be used in a deal to get Neves. The Portugal international has been touted with the exit door this summer.

Given Ramsey’s previous price tag, it is likely that Juve would have to pay some cash on top of Ramsey – to get Neves, who is rated at £26million.

Neves and Ramsey swap deal: A good move for Wolves?

Losing Neves is a blow for Wolves. With five days left in the transfer window, it is crucial that they strike a deal where they get a replacement.

So, a player-plus-cash deal makes sense. Neves would surely be desperate to join Juventus and it is clear Juventus are keen on the midfielder, too.

For Wolves, do they want Ramsey? A player six years older than Neves and injury prone. But the three-time FA Cup winner is a brilliant player.

Get the best out of Ramsey, and he can take Wolves forward in the next two or three years. Should Juventus include £20million in the deal, then yes.

That fee and Ramsey, with perhaps Juventus paying some of Ramsey’s big wages, a deal could be engineered. Plenty needs to be agreed, though.
