Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was Tottenham Hotspur‘s hero at the end of the game last night, but the Dane was visibly furious at the Spurs bench at one moment in the first half.
Spurs needed just a point to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League last night. It looked like they were going to get just that and go through to the next round as the runners-up of Group D, but thanks to Hojbjerg’s strike in what was the last kick of the game, they finished on top of their group.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg raged at Tottenham’s bench in the 28th minute last night
Tottenham had a first half to forget last night. They were awful from the first minute until the break, and what made it worse was an injury to Son Heung-min.
The Spurs star suffered what looked like a facial injury following a collision with Chancel Mbemba in the air. The South Korean was visibly hurt and struggled to even walk off the pitch in the 27th minute.
A minute passed and Tottenham still didn’t replace the South Korean, which forced them to play with 10 men. Hojbjerg was not happy with that at all.
The furious Dane, according to Football London, made his feelings clear to the Tottenham bench for being so slow with the substitution.
That’s when they brought on Yves Bissouma to partner Rodrigo Bentancur and Hojbjerg himself in the middle of the park.

TBR View:
Hojbjerg will definitely be a manager one day, won’t he?
The Dane is a real leader on and off the pitch. He has been brilliant for Spurs since he joined the club over two years ago, but he has taken his game to a whole new level this season.
The 27-year-old has four goals and four assists to his name already this season – the last time he managed this feat was in the 2018/19 campaign, where he scored four and assisted four more in the entire season for Southampton.
If Hojbjerg keeps going, he could end up with 15 goals+assists by the end of the campaign. That would be a truly phenomenal return for a defensive midfielder.
