Report: When Hugo Lloris will now be back at Tottenham after losing in the World Cup final
Lloris came within a penalty shoot-out of lifting back to back world crowns but his side were beaten by Argentina after a thrilling game.
Spurs face Brentford on Boxing Day but the Telegraph suggest that Lloris will miss that game unless he plays without any training.
Premier League clubs are facing the unique challenge of trying to get players back in after a World Cup, ready for the frantic festive period.
Lloris to return to Tottenham next week
Lloris will not get long to get over his World Cup heartbreak but that is the case for most of the players who went deep into the tournament but did not win.
He seems most likely to play against Brentford, although if he is not fit, Alfie Whiteman could get his first Spurs appearance under Conte.
The report says that as well as the absence of Lloris, Spurs also have a host of other potential concerns ahead of their return to action.
Richarlison is trying to recover from a hamstring injury he suffered at the World Cup, Rodrigo Bentancur is suspended for the Brentford game.
Ben Davies was spotted in training yesterday after a stomach injury and it seems Son Heung-min will have to play through the facial injury he picked up before the World Cup.
