Senior figures at Tottenham Hotspur reacted by sending laughing emojis in their WhatsApp group chat when there were reports that a deal to sell Harry Kane had been agreed, the Independent report.

Laughter in response

The Sun ran a front page splash suggesting that Tottenham and City had agreed a deal for the striker, which now seems premature.

Both parties apparently greeted the reports with shock and on Tottenham’s side there was huge disbelief from senior figures.

Many of Spurs’ behind the scenes staff apparently sent laughing emojis in the group chat, such was their surprise at the reports.

But Daniel Levy was apparently not in the mood to laugh it off, and was angry about the claims.

Mood worsening

Levy’s mood is not likely to have improved this week, as his star striker has not shown up for training.

Kane is now expected back at Hotspur Way later this week, but he has damaged his reputation by seemingly taking time off in a hope of forcing through a move to City.

It is still not known whether Tottenham will sell Kane this summer.

However, the Independent’s report suggest that Levy may be even firmer in his stance of keeping Tottenham’s star man now, and his recent actions may have added £50 million on to his price-tag, which means Kane’s decision may have backfired massively.
