Report: What senior Arsenal players think of Charlie Patino in first-team training
The Mirror claim that Charlie Patino is impressing his senior Arsenal teammates, having been called-up to first-team training in recent weeks.
Patino, 17, has been earning plenty of media attention recently as he continues to shine for the 23’s. He scored last time out, against Man United.
The England Under-16 international has broken into the second string at an early age. Not only that, but he captained Arsenal in the EFL Trophy.
The Sun even report that Patino’s style of play has drawn comparisons at Arsenal with that of Manchester City and England sensation Phil Foden.
Certainly, his performances in training is catching the eye and a senior debut might be in the offing soon. Teammates are impressed with Patino.
The Mirror report reads: “He has been a standout in the club’s development squads and has been thrown into senior training in recent months.
“During sessions at London Colney, Patino has impressed his more senior teammates, showing he is ready for a chance at the next level.”
Patino in training: When could he make Arsenal debut?
It could be as early as next week. Arsenal travel to Burnley this weekend in what will be a tricky clash for the Gunners – as is always a trip to Turf Moor.
But next week, the Gunners face League One side AFC Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup third round. The perfect chance to put Patino on the bench.
If things are going well and Arsenal are leading the match, then Patino might find himself coming on as a substitute. It is deserved.
Bukayo Saka, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Emile Smith-Rowe have come through – and now, Patino might be the next superstar.
