Football.London reports that people at Tottenham Hotspur have consistently praised Djed Spence for his model professional attitude in training.

Spence made the switch from Middlesbrough over the summer after an impressive campaign in the Championship with Nottingham Forest.

The 22-year-old was expected to come in and compete for a starting place in Antonio Conte’s side but is yet to start a single game under the Italian.

The wing-back is behind both Emerson Royal and Matt Doherty in the pecking order at this moment in time, with suggestions that he could go out on loan this month.

Despite a far from ideal start to his Tottenham career, the youngster is seemingly getting his head down and continuing to work hard behind the scenes.

What people at Tottenham have said about Spence

Football.London reports that people at Spurs consistently say Spence has been a model professional during his first few months in north London.

The wing-back has not complained about Conte’s decision to not hand him a start yet and has continued to take the Italian’s advice, as well that from his coaching staff.

The coaches believe that he is slowly improving as he attempts to get fully up to speed at Tottenham.

Spence is attracting interest from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen as well as three Premier League clubs, the outlet notes. But he is currently waiting on Tottenham’s decision over his future.

The youngster certainly wouldn’t have imagined his move to Tottenham starting out the way it has as he’s only made six appearances under Conte. He’s yet to start a game and has been limited to six cameo displays from the bench so far.

But it’s great to hear that Spence isn’t kicking up a fuss and he could yet have a bright future ahead of him in north London.

It’s clear that Conte feels he isn’t quite ready to become a regular for Tottenham but it would benefit him massively to go out on loan this month to play regular first-team football.
